Foundation

Easy Rent Bulgaria began its journey in Sunny Beach with just 5 vehicles and the ambition to offer a different approach to the car rental experience.

DELIVERIES ALONG THE ENTIRE BLACK SEA COAST

We gradually expanded beyond Sunny Beach and began delivering vehicles along the entire Bulgarian Black Sea coast – from one end to the other.

OUR FIRST AIRPORT OFFICE IN BURGAS

Just two years after we started, we took our first major step beyond Sunny Beach – signing an agreement for an office in the Arrivals Hall at Burgas Airport. This was our first permanent presence at a Bulgarian airport and an important milestone in the development of Easy Rent Bulgaria as an airport car rental operator.

NOW WITH A COUNTER AT SOFIA AIRPORT

One of the most important milestones in our development – we signed our first contract as an official car rental operator at Sofia Airport.

A NEW LEVEL: OUR SHOWROOM

Just one year after opening our first counter at Sofia Airport, we took the next big step – opening our own two-storey car showroom at 11 Brussels Blvd., just 2 km from the terminals of Sofia Airport. It became home to our premium, luxury and exclusive vehicles and a place where we can offer a special level of service to customers looking for more than just a rental car – but a different experience.

EXPANDING TO VARNA AIRPORT

In January 2019, we expanded our presence along the Black Sea coast and became an official car rental operator at Varna Airport. From that point on, we were welcoming our customers directly at Bulgaria’s three key international airports – Sofia, Burgas and Varna.

A TEST OF RESILIENCE – COVID-19

The world came to a standstill, travel almost disappeared, and the tourism industry faced an unprecedented challenge. For us, 2020–2021 were years of survival, adaptation and difficult decisions, but also the greatest proof of our resilience. We managed to preserve our company, our team and our belief that we would keep moving forward – at a time when, for many other companies, this marked the end.

INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION – FINANCIAL TIMES

In one of the most challenging years for the tourism industry, we received one of the most significant recognitions in our history – Easy Rent Bulgaria was included in the FT 1000 ranking by the Financial Times and Statista, which recognizes Europe’s fastest-growing companies. For us, this recognition was particularly meaningful, coming at a time when the resilience of businesses was being put to its greatest test.

A NEW DIGITAL BEGINNING

Following the challenges of the pandemic, we marked the beginning of a new chapter with a completely redesigned website and a modernized online presence. We returned to growth – more confident, more experienced and ready for the next step.

Easy Rent Bulgaria is a Bulgarian rent-a-car company founded in 2012 with just 5 vehicles and one clear idea – to provide reliable, convenient and personal service of the kind we ourselves would expect to receive.

Today, in our 15th year, we operate a fleet of 1,500 vehicles, have a team of more than 50 employees, and are present at key locations across the country. From economical city cars and family models to SUVs, minivans, electric vehicles, premium and exclusive cars, we have built one of the most diverse rent-a-car fleets in Bulgaria.

But behind the numbers is something that has remained unchanged since day one – our commitment to every customer.

Easy Rent Bulgaria began its journey in May 2012 in Sunny Beach with five cars, a small office, and far more ambition than resources.

In the beginning, we did everything ourselves. We served customers along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, delivered vehicles to different locations, welcomed and assisted customers, managed reservations, and solved problems as they arose. Our first website was a long way from what we would call a modern online system today, and a simple spreadsheet served as our reservation software.

Gradually, we began receiving more and more online bookings for Sofia as well. We moved part of our fleet there and started welcoming customers with advance reservations at Sofia Airport through a meet & greet service – years before we had our own rental desk at the airport.

Our growth has never followed a straight line. There have been mistakes, difficult periods, cars that were not where they were supposed to be, middle-of-the-night flights, unexpected expenses, losses, and decisions that had to be made on the spot. There were moments when the next step seemed far greater than the resources we had available.

But those were precisely the moments that shaped the company we are today.

Becoming an official rent-a-car operator at Burgas, Sofia and Varna airports transformed not only the scale of our business, but also the way we worked. The high standards required of airport operators pushed us to become more organized, faster and more precise, gradually building the standards that today we consider a natural part of the way we operate.

As the company grew, so did our fleet. Alongside traditional economy and family cars, we gradually added estate cars, SUVs, minivans, convertibles, electric vehicles, business-class, premium, luxury and exclusive cars.

Today, Easy Rent Bulgaria operates a fleet of 1,500 vehicles and has a team of more than 50 people. Behind every car are people – team members who manage reservations, welcome customers, prepare and clean the vehicles, coordinate logistics, maintain the fleet, and handle the dozens of small and large situations that remain invisible to the customer.

Two appearances in the FT 1000 ranking by the Financial Times and Statista – in 2021 and 2025 – are achievements we are proud of. But for us, the growth of a company has never been measured solely by the number of vehicles, revenue, or awards.

We believe that a successful company is built not on promises and advertising, but on the way it treats people and the impression it leaves behind.

We started with this belief in 2012, and 15 years later, we continue with the same conviction.

The scale has changed. The ambition and the way we treat our customers have not.
